This book was inspired by the show Supernatural, but with a Christian twist.

Originally, I was going to write seven novellas, starting with The Beginning. I wrote 41 pages and 10,081 words of this first book around 10 or so years ago.

I had this story in my back pocket for many years, and I couldn't figure out why I wasn't writing it. I finally realized that it was because it was supposed to be a novel, not a bunch of novellas. It was the right decision to make.

I had two scenes in my head for 10+ years, and I would "watch" them as I tried to sleep at night. Because I wasn't writing the book, I would play them over and over and over as I feel asleep to them. Since writing the book, they're now out of my head, and I haven't gotten a replacement. The scenes? Jenny overhearing Alex telling his mom about Lukas's conversion to Christ (Chapter 14) & James and Evan figuring out Jenny's true identity (Chapter 30).

I had an even older story called "Hybrid" that I wrote before the novella series idea. Throughout the series, most of the characters got changes to their names. The only ones who didn't have changes to their first names but did to their last were Alex and Todd. The only character whose name never changed: Jenny Doe (though her human name changed).

When I saw that Halloween 2023 was a Tuesday, I was super excited to publish my Christian Vampire Novel on Halloween.
