This was one of my favorite books I've ever written. I had so much fun bringing the characters to life and rewriting the 14 pages I originally wrote for the book idea. I changed a ton of things in the book. Originally, Lachlan faked his death, but I decided to make him truly die because the tension of his death was solved within seconds of the original.

I wrote this book before I wrote book one. There were a few scenes I rewrote more than once. The scene where the rebels find out Renshaw's true identity was rewritten three times, with the third making it into the book. The final scenes where Morca brings peace to multiple kingdoms in Solapin originally only had her only going to Amarr, Sibon, and Clematis. I decided Morca, Kent, and Valek would travel to multiple countries and act as emissaries to set up leadership in those lands.

I loved the characters so much that it spawned Shadow Series, which is a sequel series to Dream Duology, and coming out 2024-2025. I didn't originally plan to write Shadow Series until a few months before I started writing the first book.

And I will be writing another sequel series that goes after Shadow Series called Tales of Solapin.
