I officially became a published author on November 21, 2011, when I released the first e-book version of Child of Prophecy. At the time, I was pretty sure I was going to marry my boyfriend someday, so I chose to publish under my initials and maiden name — T. N. Hayden. (And sure enough, he proposed a month later on December 22, 2011!)
I rewrote Child of Prophecy in 2013 when I published the first paperback edition and updated the e-book as well. Then in 2015, I rewrote it again and released the third edition — which is the current version available today. Because of all the rewrites and new editions, the original publication date got lost along the way. So, when it came time to publish the final book in Prophecy Series, I originally planned for November 30, 2021. But then I realized something special: my very first Prophecy Series book had been published on November 21, 2011. So, I changed the release date. My first Prophecy Series book came out on November 21, 2011 — and my final Prophecy Series book was published exactly ten years later on November 21, 2021. It felt like the perfect full-circle moment. Wrapping up everyone’s stories was such a joy — especially Kurtis and Faryn’s. I’m a sucker for reunions, and this final book definitely has plenty of them. I also absolutely loved writing Ruccis. That group was inspired by my real-life friend group when I worked at Costco, and each of the six members was based on my coworkers (and a little bit of me too). Over time, the characters grew into their own people and followed paths I never fully expected — and I was so happy with how Rickie, Angie, Jeff, Jon, Drew, and Montiel’s stories ended. Some endings were planned from the very beginning — like Jeff, Jon, and Montiel’s — but others surprised me along the way. Rickie and Angie’s endings really took shape while I was editing Child of Redemption, and Drew’s came together while I was writing Child of Promise. |
