I've never done Nanowrimo before, but this year I decided to try to write 50,000 words in November (NAtional NOvel WRIting MOnth). Instead of just coming up to San Francisco for a one-night Write-A-Thon, my good friend, Marisa, and I came up for three days.
Yesterday was spent exploring the city, Fisherman's Warf, Bridge 2 Bridge Cruise, North Beach, Chinatown, and Union Square.
Today we went to Berkeley, where Marisa went to college for two years, and tonight we are walking three blocks to our Noir themed Write-A-Thon for a night of food, marketing, and writing. It's going to be amazing! We're both really looking forward to it!
My dad is a truly incredible man. I am so blessed too have him as my father.
My dad is 58 and competing in weightlifting tournaments. He's the gold medal winner of the California State Games 2013 35 and up 94kg class. He's also the American record holder for the overhead press, and the gold medalist for the AAU National Masters Weightlifting competition. He competed when he was younger (1973-1979ish). Now he's back into competitive weightlifting again, over thirty years later.
But what makes my dad so incredible is far more than just his strength. He read me the bible every night until I was in college. We prayed together and talked about everything. Whenever I had a theological question, my dad provided me with a biblical answer. He made sure God was the center of all of our lives (my siblings and myself). Both my parents have been such a strong influence in my life and my walk with God. Thank you both so much!
He's an athlete, Christian, and he's also a huge geek. His favorite superhero is the Incredible Hulk (no surprise there). He also really likes Superman.
Again, thank you God for providing me with an earthy father who can reveal to me what you as my Heavenly Father are like!
